Bear's pounce pins and ejects a single ground invader, which makes it the cleanest single-target defender in the game. Against one raider at a time it is more decisive thanBee's swarm, but against groups it can only engage sequentially — which is exactly the gap Black Dragon (ranged AoE) fills.
The practical pairing is Bear + Bee on plots that attract steady but not group raid pressure. Bear handles the primary target decisively; Bee's swarm cleans up anything Bear does not pin in time. For plots facing group raids, swap one of those slots for Black Dragon or Ice Serpent to add area or control coverage.
