Mutations guide
Understand mutation triggers, multipliers, and stacking rules to multiply your harvest value 100× or more.
Last reviewed: Jun 28, 2026
Mutations are status effects applied to growing crops that multiply their sell value. There are eight in total, split into two classes with very different rules:
- Variants — Gold (×10), Rainbow (×30), and Aurora (×90). These are mutually exclusive: a crop can have one variant at a time. (Aurora's mutual exclusivity with Gold/Rainbow is pending in-game verification.) Rainbow wins if both Gold and Rainbow roll.
- Weather mutations — Frozen (×14), Electric (×25), Bloodlit (×60), Starstruck (×50), Shocked (×100). These stack additively with each other and can all five be active on the same crop.
Multipliers reflect cross-source Council arbitration (2026-06-28). Several weather mutations have a reported value that differs from the launch calculator bundle — see the full source-disagreement breakdown. The combined multiplier formula:
variant_mult = selected_variant ? selected_variant.mult : 1 weather_sum = sum(active_weather_mutation.mult) weather_count = count(active_weather_mutation) mutation_mult = variant_mult × (1 + weather_sum − weather_count) weight_factor = weight_kg² final_sell = base_value × weight_factor × mutation_mult
Notice the − weather_count term: each additional weather mutation you stack replaces its base ×1 with its own multiplier, which is why stacking three weather mutations is so powerful. See the stacking section below for the math.

Steps
- 1Gold (variant, ×10)
Multiplier: 10× sell value. Mutually exclusive with Rainbow.
Triggers:
- Midas weather event (Special; see /weather for duration) — spawns golden seeds across gardens and can gild a player.
- Golden Dragonfly pet — doubles the chance of Gold on any roll. Mythic rarity (see /pets/golden-dragonfly for current price).
- Golden seeds planted in your plot.
- Certain gears (community-reported).
Best crop pairings:Because Gold is a flat multiplier, the absolute value scales with the crop's base value. Pair Gold with the heaviest, highest-base crops you can afford — Bamboo (high avg weight) and Cactus (above-average weight) are excellent early-game targets. See /values for current base values.
We previously published a worked Sheckle example here (e.g. "Bamboo + Gold at 2.0 kg = X Sheckles"). Those numbers were hand-written and go stale as base values change — use the calculator for concrete totals.
Visual cue: the crop glows gold.
- 2Rainbow (variant, ×30)
Multiplier: 30× sell value. Rainbow is a high-value variant mutation; see the mutations table for the full multiplier ranking.
Triggers:
- Rainbow Moon weather event (Special; see /weather for duration) — spawns Rainbow Seeds and applies Rainbow to random crops.
- Unicorn pet — doubles the chance of Rainbow. Mythic rarity (see /pets/unicorn for current price).
Best crop pairings: Same logic as Gold — pair with the highest base × heaviest crops you have. Pomegranate (Mythic) is the canonical late-game target — model the exact payout in the calculator with current base values.
Visual cue: the crop cycles through rainbow colors.
- 3Shocked (weather, ×100)
Multiplier: 100× sell value. Stacks additively with other weather mutations and is multiplied by any active variant.
Triggers: Lightning weather event (Standard; see /weather for duration) applies Shocked or Electric to random crops. The exact weighting between the two is not yet confirmed (confidence: unconfirmed; Lightning-related, exact trigger/weighting not yet confirmed).
We previously published a worked Sheckle example here (Apple + Shocked at a specific weight). Those numbers were hand-written and depend on the current Apple base value — use the calculator with live values.
Visual cue: electric arcs over the crop.
- 4Bloodlit (weather, ×60)
Multiplier: 60× sell value.
Triggers: Blood Moon weather event (Special; see /weather for duration). Applies Bloodlit to random crops.
Best crop pairings: Because Bloodlit can stack with Frozen/Electric/Shocked/Starstruck, the optimal play is to plant a fast-growing crop during a Blood Moon. A common community strategy is to wait until the event ends before harvesting, on the assumption that mutation rolls apply to growing crops; this behavior is not independently verified. Strawberry (fast-growing, multi-harvest) lets you catch the event with minimal lead time.
Visual cue: the crop is bathed in red light.
- 5Electric (weather, ×25)
Multiplier: 25× sell value.
Triggers: Lightning weather event (Standard; see /weather for duration). The event can roll Electric or Shocked on each crop.
We previously published a worked Sheckle example here (Apple + Electric + Frozen at a specific weight). Those numbers were hand-written and depend on the current Apple base value — use the calculator with live values. The mutation multipliers themselves come from a single-source community bundle and have cross-source conflicts (see /mutations).
Visual cue: sparks flicker over the crop.
- 6Starstruck (weather, ×50)
Multiplier: 50× sell value.
Triggers: Starfall weather event (duration not yet documented). The Starfall event has a chance to apply Starstruck — not every crop in the plot will receive it.
Visual cue: the crop emits star-shaped sparkles.
- 7Frozen (weather, ×14)
Multiplier: 14× sell value.
Triggers:
- Blizzard weather event (Standard — in-game files also call it SnowFall).
- Freeze gear (community-reported, confidence: unconfirmed).
- Ice Serpent pet — applies Frozen to your plants as a defensive side effect. Super rarity (see /pets/ice-serpent for current price — widely reported as the most expensive pet in the game).
Because Ice Serpent can apply Frozen outside Blizzard weather, this is a community-reported gear/pet trigger for a weather-class mutation. Pair Ice Serpent with a Gold or Rainbow variant crop for a community-reported ×14 multiplier on top of the variant; treat the exact stacking behavior as a planning estimate.
We previously published a worked Sheckle example here (Apple + Gold + Electric at a specific weight). Those numbers were hand-written and depend on the current Apple base value — use the calculator with live values.
Visual cue: the crop is encased in ice.
Tips
Mutation stacking priority
Because variants (Gold/Rainbow) are mutually exclusive but weather mutations stack additively, the optimal priority is:
- Get one variant active. Rainbow (×30) beats Gold (×10). The Unicorn pet doubles Rainbow chance; the Golden Dragonfly doubles Gold.
- Stack as many weather mutations as possible. Each additional weather mutation replaces its base ×1 with its own multiplier, so stacking three is dramatically better than two.
- Maximize weight. Weight is squared. A heavier crop sells for far more than a lighter one of the same base value. Badge data shows fruits can reach very high weights (5 kg, 10 kg, 25 kg, 50 kg, and even 100 kg tiers), so favor heavy crops whenever you can.
Three high-value combos
These describe the shape of high-value setups. Exact Sheckle totals depend on current base values, weight, and which mutation multipliers are correct in-game (cross-source conflicts exist — see /mutations). Use the calculator for concrete numbers.
Combo 1 — Rainbow Frozen Starstruck Dragon's Breath
A Rainbow Dragon's Breath (high base value) with Frozen + Starstruck weather stacking. Requires Rainbow Moon + Blizzard + Starfall overlapping — extremely rare, but it illustrates the ceiling. Model the exact payout in the calculator.
Combo 2 — Gold Electric + Frozen Bamboo
A heavy Bamboo (high avg weight) with Gold + Electric + Frozen stacking. Mid-game achievable with Golden Dragonfly + Lightning + Blizzard stacking. The squared weight term does the heavy lifting here.
Combo 3 — Rainbow Pomegranate (Rainbow-weather-triggered)
Rainbow is Rainbow-weather-triggered; the Unicorn pet doubles the chance during Rainbow weather. Community calculators may prioritize Rainbow over Gold when both are possible, but in-game precedence is not independently confirmed. A high-base multi-harvest crop under Rainbow weather is a sustainable income source — lower ceiling than Combos 1/2, but more achievable than waiting for rare weather overlaps.
