The sequel was teased for months before launch. Key signals from the pre-announcement window:

1. 2026-06-28 — Hypno Bloom + Auctioneer Update — added the Hypno Bloom crop (Super rarity, 90M Sheckles / 1599 Robux, passive hypnotic defence at night) and the Auctioneer NPC (Dutch Auction merchant, 30-min refresh, 6 lots per cycle, global shared inventory, Sheckles-only).: Cross-verified across VirtGold, growagarden2.net and TheGamer. Hypno Bloom multi-harvest status is disputed (VirtGold single vs growagarden2.net multi) and tracked as TBD. Auctioneer is a permanent NPC running a descending-price Dutch Auction.
2. 2026-06-27 — Mega Moon Update — added the Mega Moon night-time weather event (~2% trigger rate, ~2 minute duration) and the Mega Seed (Mythic event-only pickup that grows a mega variant of any non-limited crop).: Only allthings.how provides detailed values (2% trigger, ~2min duration). Beebom confirms existence with a one-line description. Cooldown, moon-phase binding, and Mega Seed drop rate have no source.
3. 2026-06-25 — Picture Frame Crate Update — added the Picture Frame Crate, a prop crate that lets players display custom image banners via Roblox decal IDs.: Single-source (Beebom). Not yet added to crates.json data pending cross-verification.
4. 2026-06-24 — Turtle Update — added the Turtle pet (Rare rarity, 70,000 Sheckles or ~3.75% map-spawn chance; ability grants +10 backpack space and -2 walk speed). Size/Rainbow variants documented: BIG +50, MEGA +100, Rainbow +20 backpack.: Base backpack/speed values cross-verified across 7 sources. Variant modifiers (+50/+100/+20) are double-source (Fandom + NerdsChalk). RPS phrases the backpack bonus as a percentage; the other 6 sources phrase it as a fixed +10 — the fixed form is adopted.
5. 2026-06-22 — Strawberry Sniper minor update — added the Strawberry Sniper gear (fires strawberry projectiles that knock back players). GosuGamers also reported a new sell system with a 'Sell All' option and daily bonus rewards; this sell-system claim is single-source.: Strawberry Sniper gear cross-verified (allthings.how). The 'Sell All' option and daily bonus rewards are single-source (GosuGamers) and not yet cross-verified.
6. 2026-06-20 — Aurora Event Update — major content update adding Aurora Borealis weather, Aurora mutation, Venom Spitter seed, Bear pet, Megaphone + Player Magnet gear, Double or Nothing sell mechanic (NPC Steven), global server-side integrity-check roll-out, and the return of Daily Deals. Pet Server Teleporters were briefly added to the Robux store and then removed.: Cross-verified across IGN, Beebom and GosuGamers. Mutation multiplier is disputed between sources and is tracked on /mutations/aurora.
7. 2026-06-12 — Grow a Garden 2 officially launched on Roblox at 16:00 UTC

9. 2026-05-06 — BloxInformer lists Grow a Garden 2 as unreleased sequel developed by Jandel
