Grow a Garden 2 runs on Roblox, so the basic control scheme is the standard Roblox layout — WASD on PC, virtual joystick on mobile. This page covers the keys and buttons you actually need to play, plus the game-specific interactions (seed shop, sell stand, pet shop, guild NPC) that go beyond the basics.

- Movement: left-side virtual joystick.
- Camera: swipe anywhere on the right side of the screen.
- Jump: center button.
- Interact: tap on the object or the NPC interaction button that appears when in range.
- Menu: top-right menu button.
On mobile, tap and hold the joystick to move continuously. Tap-and-hold on objects does not auto-repeat — you have to tap each harvest individually.
Beyond basic movement, Grow a Garden 2 has these key interactions:
- Seed Shop: interact with Sam to buy seeds. The shop restocks daily across rarities.
- Sell Stand: interact with Steven to sell your harvested crops for Sheckles.
- Pet Shop: pets spawn at random locations on the map. Walk up to them to purchase. See the pets database.
- Guild NPC: find Gilbert to create or join a guild for weekly rewards.
- Gear Shop: George sells every piece of farming gear in the game — sprinklers, watering cans, mushrooms, gadgets.
- Props Shop: Charlotte sells decorative and structural crates — walls, fences, bridges, traps, owner doors.
- Plant: stand on your farm plot and select a seed from your inventory.
- Wait: crops grow over time — growth continues while you are offline. This is the single biggest quality-of-life feature in GAG2 vs the original.
- Harvest: click (PC) or tap (mobile) on mature crops to collect them.
- Sell:go to Steven's Sell Stand to convert crops to Sheckles.
At night, the steal action becomes available. Walk into another player's garden, walk up to a crop, and press E (or tap on mobile) to pick it up — but remember, your teleport-home is disabled the instant you do. See the stealing guide for the full loop.
- Use Shift Lock (PC) for easier camera control while farming — the camera stays behind your character as you move.
- On mobile, tap and hold to move continuously rather than spam-tapping.
- Check the shop often — Sam's seed stock and George's gear stock rotate daily.
- Visit other players' gardens to see what they are growing and learn layout patterns.
- Join a guild early via Gilbert for weekly rewards — Common Eggs come from guild rewards.
