Unicorn

Unicorn doubles the chance of a crop rolling the Rainbow mutation — a force multiplier on top of an already large value bonus. Because Rainbow is mutually exclusive with Gold, Unicorn shifts your setup toward Rainbow rolls when Rainbow can occur, which is a strong expected-value bet on any crop worth more than a few hundred Sheckles.

The pet does not multiply the sell value directly; it multiplies how often the mutation lands. That means Unicorn pays off only on plots large enough that Rainbow actually rolls during a play session, and only when Rainbow weather is in the rotation. On small plots or in dry weather windows the Sheckle price tag sits idle.

Unicorn is one of the most expensive mutation-focused pets in the game — well above the price of Bee or Monkey — and sits at the top of the Rainbow-mutation pet line. That price reflects its position as a capstone rather than a workhorse: Unicorn is the pet you buy after your plot is fully automated (Monkey), defended (Bee), and scaled to the point where mutation rolls are the only remaining value lever.

For most players the practical advice is to defer Unicorn until the rest of the setup is in place. Buying Unicorn first — before automation, before defense — tends to produce a high-mutation-rate plot you cannot harvest fast enough or defend well enough to benefit from. Unicorn rewards players whose farms are already running flat-out.
