Bee

Bee is the dedicated defensive pet in Grow a Garden 2, patrolling the garden and swarming intruders during the night-stealing window. Its value depends entirely on whether you are running a plot that attracts raiders — high-value crops like Dragon Fruit or stacked weather mutations pull attention, while early Common plots rarely need a defender.

Bee is a serious Sheckle investment, and unlike Robin or Monkey it does not generate income — it prevents loss. The honest framing: Bee pays for itself only if you were already losing crops to raids. The top-tier pets are all serious investments, so the choice between them is the most consequential pet decision in the game. Bee defends crops, Monkey harvests them automatically, and Unicorn doubles Rainbow mutation chance. In single-active-pet setups you will need to choose one and rotate between them.

The pragmatic order most players follow: Monkey first (it removes the harvest-click bottleneck that limits plot size), then Bee (only if raids are actually costing you crops), then Unicorn (a late-game multiplier pet for players already maxed on automation and defense). Skipping straight to Bee without Monkey often leaves you losing crops you never had time to harvest in the first place.
