Golden Dragonfly

Golden Dragonfly doubles the chance of the Gold mutation rolling on a ripe crop. That is the same shape of bonus Unicorn applies to Rainbow, and the choice between the two is the most consequential mutation-farming decision in the game. Gold and Rainbow are mutually exclusive on a single crop, so running a Golden Dragonfly explicitly trades Rainbow rolls for Gold rolls.

The case for Golden Dragonfly over Unicorn is gold odds. Gold rolls from more sources than Rainbow — pets, weather, gear, and golden seeds — so a doubled Gold chance lands more often than a doubled Rainbow chance, even if each Rainbow payout is larger. On plots that do not see frequent Rainbow weather, Golden Dragonfly produces more total mutation value per session.

Pair with high-base-value crops. The doubled chance is worth more on a Dragon Fruit pick than on a Carrot pick, because the multiplier applies to a larger base. On low-value crops the math rarely justifies the Sheckle cost; on Legendary plots the same doubled chance can fund the next seed purchase off a single Gold harvest.
