Bald Eagle fills a gap none of the other defenders cover: it neutralises airborne invaders by snatching them out of the air and flying them off the plot. Every other defender in the dataset (Bee, Bear, Black Dragon, Ice Serpent) handles ground targets. If airborne raiders are part of the threat model on your server, Bald Eagle is the only pet that addresses it directly.
The acquisition model is unusual: Bald Eagle is a random overworld map spawn rather than a shop or egg drop, which means the buy decision happens when you encounter one, not when you plan for one. The Sheckle cost at the encounter is substantial. The honest framing is opportunity cost: that capital could fund a full ground-defense stack (Bee + Bear) instead. Buy Bald Eagle when your plot already has ground defense sorted and the missing piece is the air layer — not as a first defender.
Pair with a ground defender so both layers are covered. Bee's swarm handles the ground rush while Bald Eagle intercepts anything that arrives from above, producing the most complete layered defense available in the current pet pool.
