Aurora Event Update

Released June 20, 2026

Last reviewed: Jun 22, 2026

The Aurora Event Update shipped on June 20, 2026— the first major content drop after Grow a Garden 2's June 12 launch. It added a new night-time weather event (Aurora Borealis), a matching mutation (Aurora), a defensive Mythic seed (Venom Spitter), a defensive Mythic pet (Bear), two new gear items (Megaphone, Player Magnet), a new sell-side gamble mechanic (Double or Nothing, hosted by NPC Steven), a global server-side integrity-check roll-out, and the return of Daily Deals. Pet Server Teleporters were briefly added to the Robux store and then removed.

Cross-verified across IGN, Beebom and GosuGamers. Per-section confidence badges flag anything that is not cross-verified. For specific numeric values (costs, multipliers, hourly income), use /values and /tools/calculator rather than relying on the prose here.

What shipped in this update

The Aurora Event Update is the post-launch content drop that expands the weather/mutation rotation, adds two new defensive items (one seed, one pet), and introduces a new sell mechanic that lets players gamble the proceeds of a sale for a double-or-nothing outcome. It also rolls out server-side integrity checks across all servers and restores the Daily Deals shop.

The update is named after its flagship feature: the Aurora Borealis weather event and the Aurora mutation it applies.

New weather: Aurora Borealis
Cross-verified

Night-time weather event

Aurora Borealis is a new night-time weather event. When it fires, it applies the Aurora mutation to growing crops in the server. Community reports put the duration at roughly two minutes, but that figure is not yet cross-verified.

For the verified mechanics of this weather event, see /weather.

New mutation: Aurora
Unconfirmed

Multiplier disputed across sources

The Aurora mutation is applied by the Aurora Borealis weather event. It is a sell-value multiplier on the affected crop.

The Aurora mutation multiplier is currently disputed across community sources. Different outlets publish different numbers, and we do not reproduce the conflicting figures here. See /mutations/aurora for the latest verified data and the full list of source conflicts.

New seed: Venom Spitter

Mythic defensive plant

Venom Spitter is a new Mythic-tier defensive seed introduced in this update. As a defensive plant, it functions on the night-stealing / defense side of the game rather than as a pure sell-value crop.

For verified stats (cost, grow time, defensive function), see /seeds/venom-spitter.

New pet: Bear
Cross-verified

Mythic defensive pet

Bearis a new Mythic-tier defensive pet. Like Venom Spitter, it sits on the defense side of the game's day/night split (see /night-stealing/defense).

For verified stats (cost, passive effect), see /pets/bear.

New gear: Megaphone, Player Magnet (and Strawberry Sniper)
Cross-verified

Player-utility and movement gear

The Aurora Event Update added two new gear items. A small follow-up update on June 22 added a third, the Strawberry Sniper — covered here for convenience but detailed on its own page.

New mechanics: Double or Nothing, integrity checks, Daily Deals
Cross-verified

Sell-side gamble, server enforcement, returning shop

Double or Nothing is a new sell-side option hosted by NPC Steven. When a player chooses it, the proceeds of a sale are staked for a double-or-zero outcome — you either double the sale value or lose it. See /npcs for the NPC roster.

Server-side integrity checks were enabled across all servers in this update (previously they were not global). This is a back-end enforcement change rather than a player-facing feature.

Daily Deals returned with this update, re-adding the rotating deals slot to the shop.

Removed: Pet Server Teleporters
Likely

Briefly added to the Robux store, then removed

Pet Server Teleporters were briefly added to the Robux store alongside this update and then removed shortly after launch. Community reporting attributes the removal to a likely unintended item issue, but that reasoning is single-source and not yet cross-verified.

This update summary is reconstructed from community coverage (IGN, Beebom, GosuGamers, allthings.how and Eurogamer). The Aurora mutation multiplier is currently disputed between sources and is tracked on /mutations/aurora rather than stated here.
