Dragon Fruit Seed

Dragon Fruit at 120,000 Sheckles is the cheapest Legendary seed, and the case for buying it is volume. A single Dragon Fruit plot costs less than one Cherry or Sunflower plot, but several Dragon Fruit plots collectively out-produce a single higher-tier Legendary over the same window. The per-pick value (150 Sheckles) is below Cherry and Sunflower, but the seed-cost gap means Dragon Fruit is the realistic first Legendary for most players.

The investment is still substantial. Convert one plot at a time, paid for out of Epic-tier surplus rather than out of savings, so a bad stretch on the new Legendary plot does not cascade into the rest of the farm. Skip straight to Cherry only if you have the Sheckles to absorb the higher seed cost without slowing plot expansion.

Dragon Fruit has the longest sourced grow cycle of the Legendaries, which makes growth acceleration the highest-value pairing. A Super Sprinkler or higher applied across a Dragon Fruit plot shaves a meaningful fraction off every cycle, and because the crop is multi-harvest those seconds stack across many harvests over the plot's lifetime. Pair with a Deer pet to extend the boost plot-wide.

Automation and mutation pairings compound here. A Monkey pet prevents the missed-harvest losses that the long Dragon Fruit cycle makes most costly; a Unicorn or Golden Dragonfly on top turns each harvest into a mutation-roll opportunity on a high-value base. The combination is expensive, but Dragon Fruit is exactly the crop that justifies the expense.
