The trigger to move into Dragon Fruit is sustained Epic income. Legendary seeds are the largest capital expense in the game, and converting more than one plot at a time is risky — a long cycle means recovery from a bad stretch is slow. The standard pattern is to convert one plot to Dragon Fruit, let its harvests compound for several cycles, and only expand the Legendary footprint once the first plot's income has paid back the seed cost.

Dragon Fruit is also one of the crops where mutations can produce outsized payouts. The profit calculator shows the exact multipliers — applying Gold or a weather mutation to a Legendary base value produces a single-pick payout well beyond the sticker. The long cycle simply means the crop is in the ground across multiple weather windows; treat that as a fact about timing rather than a claim about mutation odds.
