Tulip at 40 Sheckles is the first Uncommon seed most players meet, and the unusual thing about it is the sell-back math: at 1.50× sell-back per Sheckle spent on a single harvest, Tulip is one of the few seeds where the first pick alone covers the seed cost. That changes the buy decision. Most seeds are capital expenses that amortise over multiple harvests — Tulip is closer to a profitable single transaction.
The catch is that Tulip is single-harvest, so it does not compound. Over a long session, the multi-harvest Uncommons (Tomato, Apple) pull ahead because their harvests keep coming without a replant.
