Corn at 2,500 Sheckles is the cheapest multi-harvest Rare, and that combination is the entire case for the crop. The per-pick value alone (34 Sheckles) does not compete with Bamboo's single-harvest payout, but over three or more harvests from the same plant Corn pulls ahead because there is no replant cost. The values table has the exact crossover point.
Against Pineapple (the higher Rare), Corn has the cheaper seed and the shorter cycle. Pineapple pays more per pick but takes meaningfully longer to mature and stocks far less often. For players building a first Rare plot, Corn is the safer pick; Pineapple is the upgrade once Corn income is compounding.
Corn's grow cycle is long enough that any growth-speed multiplier has real compounding value. A Common Sprinkler applied to a Corn plot shaves seconds off every harvest, and because the crop is multi-harvest those seconds stack across many cycles over the life of the plot. Pair with a growth-focused pet like Deer to extend the speed boost across the whole plot rather than a single plant.
On the harvest side, a Trowel lets you reposition Corn as your plot grows without losing the established plant — useful because Corn's longer cycle makes the replant cost of repositioning more painful than for fast Common crops. See the gears pages for sprinkler and Trowel details.
