Bamboo at 700 Sheckles is the entry-level Rare, and unlike the other Rares it is single-harvest. The sell-back math is the entire case for buying it: at 1.14× sell-back per Sheckle spent on a single pick, Bamboo returns the seed cost in one harvest and turns a profit on top. That makes Bamboo a profitable flip rather than a long-term plot investment.
The trade-off versus Corn (the multi-harvest Rare) is repeat income. Bamboo's single harvest is lucrative but finite; Corn's harvests keep coming. Pick Bamboo when you want a fast profitable cycle and have plots to spare for replanting; pick Corn when you want to stop paying for seeds.
Bamboo's 1.14× sell-back per Sheckle spent on a single harvest is one of the strongest first-pick returns in the game, but the single-harvest tag changes the long-run math. Over a session long enough for the multi-harvest Rares (Corn, Pineapple) to stack several harvests, those crops overtake Bamboo on cumulative income per plot.
The practical rule is plot count. With one or two plots, Bamboo's fast profitable cycle wins. With several staggered plots, the multi-harvest Rares win because they remove the replant bottleneck. Treat Bamboo as a short-window Rare earner, not a plot you build a farm around.
