Strawberry

Strawberry is the first multi-harvest crop most players meet. The multi-harvest tag is the unlock that matters here: one seed keeps producing for the life of the plot, which removes the replant tax that makes single-harvest crops expensive over time.

The right moment to switch from Carrot to Strawberry is as soon as you can afford to fill two or three plots with Strawberry seed. The first harvest feels slow compared to a Carrot cycle, but by the third regrowth you are collecting income per plot per cycle with no replanting — passive income that funds the next tier.

Strawberries stay relevant through the early game and into the first Uncommon unlocks. They are not a late-game crop; the per-pick value is too low to compete once the next tier is online. But as the cheapest multi-harvest in the game, they are the crop that turns farming from "replant every cycle" into "check back periodically".

The direct comparison is Blueberry, also Common and multi-harvest on a similar cycle length. Check the values table for per-pick numbers — Blueberry outsells Strawberry at the same rarity, so once Blueberry seed is affordable it is a strict upgrade. Strawberry's only edge is cheaper seed, which matters only in the first few minutes of a run.

Against Carrot the trade-off is different. Carrot needs replanting; Strawberry regrows. Over a short active window with constant replanting, Carrot can keep pace on raw output — but Strawberry frees your attention to plant and check other plots, and attention is the real scarce resource early on.

The takeaway: Strawberry is a stepping stone to Blueberry, not a long-term pick. Plant it the moment multi-harvest unlocks, swap it for Blueberry as soon as seed cost allows, and move on to Uncommon crops once you have a full plot of Blueberries.
