When to plant Blueberries

Blueberry is the early-game workhorse. Multi-harvest on a short cycle, it hits the sweet spot for the first hour of play: high enough value to feel worthwhile, fast enough to keep plots turning over, and regrowing so you stop paying for seed every cycle.

The ideal window for Blueberry is once Strawberry has funded your first few seed purchases and you are deciding what to plant before saving up for an Uncommon. A full plot of Blueberries quietly bankrolls that save — every cycle, every plot, with no replanting. Stack several plots and the Sheckles compound fast enough to reach Uncommon seed cost without grinding.

Blueberries also make a good "filler" crop later in the run. When one plot is between rarer-tier replants, dropping a Blueberry in the gap captures income that would otherwise be lost to an empty plot. They are cheap to seed, mature quickly, and the multi-harvest tag means even one forgotten Blueberry is still paying out.

How Blueberries compare

Blueberry is the upper bound of the Common tier. Inside Common there is no upgrade path — the only step up is to leave the rarity entirely. Check the values table for the per-pick numbers on Strawberry and Carrot; Blueberry meets or beats both on the axes that matter.

Compared to Tomato, the first Uncommon, Blueberry looks weak on per-pick value but stronger on cycle speed. Per cycle, the Uncommon crop pays more per pick but takes longer to mature. The crossover — where the faster Blueberry cycle stops winning — depends on how many plots you have; the values table and profit calculator let you model both sides.

The decision point is plot count. With one or two plots, Blueberry's faster cycle wins. Once you have several plots and can stagger harvests, the higher per-pick value of Uncommon crops takes over and you graduate out of Blueberry. Keep one or two Blueberry plots running as filler even then.
